My Octopus Lover

Grotesque, sad and noble, the octopus has a feeling brain in every tentacle.

These works come from a different place, a more interior place. Whilst Crossings and Surrey Homes consider the world as divided by boundaries, in these Octopus works the female protagonist, with eyes closed, appears to soar above it.

Floating in sea or space, she is perhaps a response to the period when I was unable to move physically freely. But still freedom of imagination remains.

The octopus extends an invitation to experience the world differently.
